Jabra has released the Halo Smart Bluetooth headphones, promising they will be the best allies for those with a busy lifestyle. Users wearing them atop their shoulders will be able to enjoy a couple of days with no charging since the headphones are supposed to provide 15 hours of music and 17 hours of talk time. Yes, this device, which has a neckband that tethers the headphones together, allows wearers to answer calls, too.
The silver Halo Smart will be available at Best Buy for $79.99 later this month. Those interested in the black model will be able to find it on Jabra.com in July, the company says.
The tech company based in Copenhagen is best known for its office headset products commonly used in call centers and businesses alike, but it now wants to innovate with smart devices that can be widely used by busy people also out of their workplace. However, Jabra will be still making the products it originally hit the market with.
“We are all doing more with our smartphones than ever before, whether it’s making and taking calls, listening to music on-the-move or watching a movie clip during a break,” Jabra SVP Calum MacDougall said in a statement, as quoted by Dealerscope.
Easy and comfortable
The neckband is designed to vibrate when a call comes in and the two earbuds, which have 10mm drivers, can be separated in case wearers want to use only one to answer a call, perhaps if they are in the middle of another task. The headphones are water-resistant and include noise protection.
iOS users will be able to activate Siri thanks to a button specially dedicated to it, while Android users will have the option to turn Google Now on right from the Halo Smart, as well as to hear audio readouts of text, email, calendar, and social media notifications.

Users must download the Jabra Assist app to track the battery life of the headset based on historical usage. The app will notify them when the Halo Smart are running out of battery, so they know when to recharge the device.
There are many other neckbuds available in the market, but most are only designed for music. Jabra says the sound quality offered by the Halo Smart is the same for calls as it is for music, and it remarks that the neckband has the space necessary for a battery that lasts for a couple of busy days.
