US Secret Service is currently investigating one incident involving controversial statements from Donald Trump‘s spokesperson and supporter. Trump adviser said this week that Hillary Clinton should be shot for treason.

Al Baldasaro, a military veteran, New Hampshire lawmaker, a former Marine and how he calls himself “Trump’s adviser,” said at a radio show that the Democratic presidential candidate should be put in the firing line and shot for treason. A spokeswoman for the Secret Service, Nicole Mainor, said that the U.S. Secret Service is aware of the magnitude of the incident, and the institution will conduct a proper investigation. Baldasaro, a Republican from Londonderry, New Hampshire, became Trump’s loyal supporter when he got a vital role during a crucial moment of Trump’s campaign. Baldasaro got a speaking role in May when news media bombarded Trump about his promise of giving $1 million to veterans groups.

It is not clear if Balsadaro’s comments, suggesting Clinton’s death, might have broken the law. Trump’s veteran adviser alleges, in turn, that unfair liberal media misinterpreted his words.

Liberal media twisted Trump’s adviser words

At the Republican National Convention (RNC) held this week in Cleveland, Republicans called for Clinton to be put in prison. However, Baldasaro went further by saying that Clinton should be executed for treason.

Late Wednesday, Baldasaro accused media of twisting his words. He affirmed he never said Hillary Clinton should be shot. He pointed out that liberal media, as usual, took his words out of context.

Nevertheless, this version is not what radio listeners heard when Balsadaro was interviewed on the Jeff Kuhner conservative radio show: “The Kuhner Report.” Balsadaro pronounced the controversial remarks when asked about Clinton’s role in the deadly 2012 attack on U.S. embassy facilities in Libya.

“She is a disgrace for the lies that she told those mothers about their children that got killed over there in Benghazi. This whole thing disgusts me, Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason,” said Trump’s veteran adviser.

Hours later, Baldasaro confirmed such statements in an interview with WMUR of Manchester, N.H. He said that Clinton was guilty of treason when she handled government emails. As per Baldasaro, the penalty for treason is the firing squad. Trump’s adviser continued saying that Clinton put people in danger, and if someone takes confidential material off a server, that person is sharing public information with the enemy. Baldasaro added that anyone committing treason should be shot or sent to the electric chair.

Baldasaro emphasized that if there is the case of someone having a server with the names of veterans and the names of agents in other countries, and if the enemy gets to have access to such precious information, nation’s veterans are undoubtedly going to get killed.

Even if Baldasaro statements were pretty clear, when asked about the comments pointing to Clinton’s death, he said that he never on anybody to be shot. According to him, when he clearly stated that the Democratic presidential nominee should be penalized for treason, his words were misinterpreted by media, as usual. What he really “meant” was that Clinton should be up on treason charges.

U.S. Secret Service investigators said they are looking into the incident. However, Baldasaro referred to his statements as part of the First Amendment issue stating freedom of speech. When answering to the controversy, his words had caused, Baldassaro asked if he should give up to his freedom of speech and properly pick up his words to protect someone’s vulnerability.

According to him, refraining himself from saying what he strongly believes in avoiding hurting someone’s feelings is to deny US freedom of speech.

Trump’s veteran adviser promised to keep on discussing the controversy of his comments; however, he hopes the unfair liberal media stop twisting his words.

During Wednesday’s statements, Baldadasro said that he would never let someone get away with endangering his country and military forces.

Baldasaro’s statements go against military values

Baldasaro’s comments did not only cause controversy among public audience but also among veterans groups.

“For a Trump supporter who is a veteran to come out and say that a political opponent should be put to death damages the campaign, our community and the entire country. It’s ridiculous, and it goes against all military values and what we believe,” said Bill Rausch, executive director of Got You Six.

Got You Six is a US nonprofit campaign uniting veteran-focused nonprofit, Hollywood and governments partners.

Alexander McCoy, a Marine Corps veteran, and organizer behind the #VetsvsHate protests outside the Republican convention pointed out that Baldasaro’s comments are another demonstration of what’s really behind Trump’s campaign. He considers that Republican’s presidential candidate campaign is not a big deal at all about helping the United States.

CEO of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans ‏of America, Paul Rieckhoff, likewise criticized Baldasaro’s timing and information. As per Rieckhoff current sociopolitical situation the US is facing is not the best context to address such comments. He called Trump’s adviser words as toxic and irresponsible.
