The Japanese game developer publisher has announced the new Persona 5 date in a live-stream presentation to gamers. Also, a new trailer of the game has been published to the public.

On September 15 of the current year the game Persona 5 will be released in Japan along with a package celebrating the anniversary edition of the game. A release date for the United States or western markets in general has not been revealed yet.

New Persona 5

Persona 5 is a role-playing game that has been developed for Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 consoles and is actually the sixth release of the series. The videogame is part of another game franchise called Megami Tensei.

The game allows players to live the life of a High School student boy that suddenly gains the power to summon his own psyche, or at least facets of it, that are named Personas.

The plot of the game revolves around a group of friends that live their life as outcasts in the High School world, together they figure a common goal and brand themselves as the “Phantom Thieves of Hearts”.

The group of friends finds the Isekai-Navi an object that allows them to enter a whole different world and steal the malicious intent from the hearts of other people. The team find this as their way to shape society but are stopped by a greater enemy.

On the Japanese website of the game, the team of developers announced the latest promotional video of the game. In addition, it allowed users to design their characters as a trial along with a visual package of the game.

It was also announced a new Persona anime series that is actually a TV prequel called “Persona 5 The Animation: The Daybreakers” the tv series will premiere on September in Japanese television.

20 years since the first release of the game

Atlus also announced a new special collector’s edition box in celebration of the game’s 20th anniversary.

The first Persona game was revealed to the public on  September 20, 1996 and since then it has emerged as one of the best-selling role playing games.

The anniversary edition box will include:

  • An art book of the game
  • Soundtrack
  • Cosmetic DLC
  • Costumes from the cast

The price set for the special box is 13,800 yen which is equivalent to $128, it hasn’t been announced if this package will be released worldwide.

Information about the release date of the Persona 5 game on the western markets is expected to be released in June at the 2016 E3.
