Jon Bon Jovi revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that “This House Is Not For Sale” tour starts on February 8 at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greensville, South Carolina.
The tour will last two months until March 22. The band will be presenting their new record under the same title, “This House Is Not For Sale,” to be released on November 4. The band played last weekend in New Jersey, their native city, to allow fans to get a preview of some of the songs to be available on the album.
30 years of music and still moving forward
It is the first time Bon Jovi enters the studio without lifelong guitarist Richie Sambora, being replaced by Philip Xenidis, who has been playing with the band since 2013. Sambora stated on November 2015 that he quit the band to spend more time with his family.
“I just needed to be home … I think people don’t understand exactly what that means. You don’t get to come home. There’s a huge sacrifice in that. I missed a lot of my daughter’s life,” said Sambora in an interview.
Title track “This House Is Not For Sale” is already available as a single, ranking on the Top Ten of the AC Radio Chart. It has become Bon Jovi’s best debut on that chart so far.
The tour will mark the first time the band hits the road after their 2013 “Because We Can” world tour, which became the third tour in six years carried out by the band labeled as the highest-grossing tour in the world, something previously achieved by the Rolling Stones only.
Frontman Jon Bon Jovi commented that the record is about rebirth and about everything that makes him feel alive, without having the need of proving themselves to anyone.
“This House Is Not For Sale” tour will feature classic hits from the band, alongside new songs appearing on the album.
Bon Jovi is a well-renown band that has made a name for itself thanks to songs like “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “It’s My Life,” “Wanted Dead or Alive” and their 13 studio albums, among which fans label “Slippery When Wet” as their best work.
Often categorized as glam metal or hard rock, Bon Jovi has managed to develop its own style of upbeat rock anthems, allowing them to fill arenas with the euphoria of fans and remain relevant with the passing of time.
