Camila Cabello performed with Fifth Harmony for the last time Saturday night during New Year’s Eve celebrations. The group sang during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2017.
The group sang during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2017. The performance included Cabello, who announced in December she left the band to pursue a solo career. Camila Cabello joined Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Normani Kordei and Lauren Jauregui because the performance was pre-taped before she left the girl band.
Fifth Harmony and Rapper Ty Dolla $ign shared the stage while the group sang its hit “Work From Home.” The five singers wore festive black, pink and purple metallic ensembles and entertained the crowd with their dance moves. The group also sang “That’s My Girl” in their two-song presentation.
The now four-member group shared the stage with Shawn Mendes, John Legend, DNCE, Niall Horan, Lukas Graham and Emeli Sande along with Mariah Carey.
Camila Cabello performed along with Fifth Harmony but also worked as a solo artist during the holiday
The young singer who left the girl band on December 19, hosted Radio Disney’s Top 16 of 2016, a countdown of the best songs of the year. Radio Disney posted on Twitter a short clip of Cabello smiling face to face saying “we’re gonna party.”
Fifth Harmony announced via Instagram on December 18 that Cabello had left the group, saying that their colleague’s representatives told them that Camila had decided to leave after being with them for four and a half year.
“You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you’ve supported us, and with your love and support, we will continue on. That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us- Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans. We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors,” posted the group on social media.
Trouble began after Cabello released her own statement. She said that she had discussed her departure with her partners several times, but the remaining Harmonizers suggested in the post that they never had such conversations with Camila. The now foursome said they only knew Camila was leaving the group through her representatives.
Cabello had already explored solo endeavors in the last months before officially leaving Fifth Harmony. She worked on “Power in Me” with producer Benny Blanco and made the “Bad Things” collaboration with Machine Gun Kelly. She performed the last son along with Kelly on the Jingle Ball Tour outside the Fifth Harmony spotlight.
