Two and a Half Men‘s lead star Charlie Sheen was confirmed to test HIV–positive, according the E! News website. The actor will appear in a live interview with Matt Lauer on the show Today this Tuesday morning, where he will make a ‘revealing personal announcement’, reports NBC News.
Sheen has had a long story of alcohol and drug addictions, sex scandals and troubles with the law. Back in 1995, he confessed to have spent $53,000 on prostitutes between 1991 and 1993 during the tax-evasion trial against madam Heidi Fleiss. Later in 2010 he was found intoxicated at the Plaza Hotel in New York, where he supposedly was with porn star Capri Anderson, which cost him the divorce from his second wife, Brooke Muller.
Next year wasn’t fortunate for the actor either. Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men, one of his most notable appearances, due to a dispute with the show’s screenwriter in 2011. Then, last year the actor proposed to adult film star Scottine Rossi, but the wedding was suspended a month before the established date.
Sheen has five children and three ex-wives. The mentioned Muller, along with Donna Peele and Denise Richards, first and third respectively. It has been confirmed that Sam and Lola, Sheen’s and Richards’ daughters, are both free from HIV.
The actor has been away from the public eye for some time this year, aside from a few scandals — back in June, he publicly insulted his ex-wife Richards on twitter, calling her the ‘worst mom alive’ between other things. Earlier that month he had to be taken to the hospital after a severe episode of food poisoning.
On a more regular note, he also had a guest appearance on The Goldbergs back in February, although he hasn’t been starring on TV on a regular basis anymore after his role on the comedy series Anger Management.
Tomorrow’s ‘revealing’ interview with Sheen will be uploaded on Today.com after it finishes airing.
