During the Hot 97 “Ebro in the Morning” show, New York hip-hop commentator Ebro dropped on Wednesday a rumor going around the possible addition of Eminem to the Drake-Joe Budden beef.
According to a private conversation Ebro had with Drake, the hip-hop commentator said that he brought the rumor to the table. He said he told Drake he had heard a rumor that Eminem was going to gear up to come after the 28-year-old Toronto rapper.
“I told Drake that I heard the rumor was Eminem was going to gear up to come after him. He laughed. He was like, ‘That’s not gonna happen.’ He’s like, ‘He’d never do that. And if he did, I got something for him, too,’” said Ebro during his show.
Ebro revealed that Eminem is supposedly preparing a diss track of his own to leap into the fray to protect his vassal. As per Ebro, concerned with Joe Budden beef, Drake was laughing all the time. He added that Drizzy also launched to Budden many threats about releasing the direct messages both of them shared. Drake allegedly revealed that the only reason why Budden has not made public the direct messages is because, in one of them, Drake wishes the best to Budden during the tough time.
In turn, when addressing about the interaction, Budden said that everything about Drake’s behavior is just lame. This time, Budden is involving his label boss’s, Eminem, into the beef to participate in the fourth diss track against Drake.
On 2009, Eminem and Drake worked together in the hit “Forever,” featuring Kanye West and Lil Wayne. This time, Drake’s opponent does not hold back when it comes to unleashing disses. Eminem has blasted his mom, ex-wife, Mariah Carey and Ja Rule, among other targets.
Background
For the past month, Drake has been engaged in a feud with New Jersey emcee veteran, Joe Budden. Budden criticized Drake’s latest album “Views” on a podcast on social media. Drake answered back with a few subliminals on a record, as well as direct, bitter comments on a concert stage and direct messages to Budden on Instagram. All the while, Budden has released four diss tracks in an attempt to defense himself against Drake’s attacks.
Everything might be changing now with the possible addition of Eminem to the feud. Some critics have called the Drake-Budden beef as unsubstantial because apparently, it is quite impossible that the Toronto rapper gets threatened by Budden’s weak counteractions.
For some people, it is possible that Drake might have found an opponent in the same weight class. In the case it is true; fans better get prepared for the most crucial rap beef over a decade.
