The company Faraday Future published on Youtube a 45-second video where their new model outruns vehicles from Tesla, Ferrari, and Bentley in three quick drag races.
In the video, the users can see the yet to be named car battling with a W12-powered Bentley Bentayga and winning. This suggests that the Faraday Future model will have the ability to sprint to 60 mph (96 kph) in less than 2.9 seconds.
The Tesla Model X P100D is currently the car that can achieve that mark, and also got beaten by the Faraday Future in the video. It also beat a Ferrari 488 GTB and completed what it seemed like an impossible task.
In the video, the company presented a very powerful electric SUV capable of outrunning vehicles with enormous engine power. However, the video came from the very official Youtube account of Faraday Future, so it’s logical that the SUV won every single drag race.
The actual challenge will be proving those capacities when the model premieres in the global market, or if an independent party tests the model and presents the results to the public.
Financial problems for Faraday Future
In the very beginning of 2017 this company, backed by Chinese businessman Jia Yueting, will present to the public their new electric car models. There is hype among the vehicle world regarding the launch from Faraday Future. This company has been working on creating this hype, by releasing several short videos, tweets and other kinds of previews and teasers of their long waited models.
However, not everything is all right with the California-based company. Six former employees from Faraday approached to BuzzFeed and stated that financial troubles were more serious than thought. High amounts of unpaid bills, lawsuits, and even a side project that has taken time and money are among the causes of the rough financial year this company lived.
“Month to month, the money was never there. Funds were lower than what Faraday needed to cover operational costs and commitments to suppliers,” one former employee with knowledge of the company’s finances told BuzzFeed.
Back in July, a total of $300 million were added to the company’s internal debt, when missed payments to suppliers and vendors were reported to the balance sheet. In that time, there was a lawsuit regarding the overdue on a payment of $100 million, according to a former anonymous employee. Futuris is one of the companies that have filed a lawsuit against Faraday Future for $10 million.
Until this date, Faraday Future has not responded to the allegations and even an official spokesperson said that as a professional company, they don’t accept any rumors concerning economic issues.
