The company giant Google unveiled its latest feature to its Google Photos service on Tuesday, in order to improve the user’s edition abilities.
The announcement was made on March 1 on the Google Photos Google+ post. Google Photos users are now provided with an updated batch of new tools to help them edit their photos with ease.
Google Photos also provides its users with fantastic tools for storing photos as well as it counts with a simple search engine. New features such as swiping between images while staying in the edit mode and an automatic saving of the drafts will assure the user’s satisfaction with their editing.
As the digital photos have become a standard for today’s society, people looking to make the best out of their shots can count on Google Photos to help them. The photo-editing tool is just one of many other offered options such as Flickr or Picasa. However, Google announced it would be shuttering Picasa last month, as it will drift its focus to the new Google Photos service.
“As of March 15, 2016, we will no longer be supporting the Picasa desktop application,” said Anil Sabharwal, Chief of Google Photos. “We apologize for any inconvenience this transition causes, but we want to assure you we are that doing this with the aim of providing the best photos experience possible.”
Enhanced editing tools
The photo-editing service was launched on 2015 yet it has been updated with new features ever since its launch. Before the update to the photo editing service, Google Photos already offered basic editing tools including predefined filters, photo cropping, and the option to save a copy of the altered photo while saving the original as well.
It’s worth mentioning that, in addition to the new features of Google Photos, the web version of the service will allow users to crop specific aspects ratios of the photos. While letting the editor to resize the pictures freely, Google Photos is surely a great tool for amateur editors and non-editors to tidy up photos with ease.
At this point, is strange that Google hasn’t added the recent features for the smartphone’s app, yet it’s most likely to arrive pretty soon to complete the users’ editing experience.
