The American designing brand, Fossil, has just enlarged its smartwatch lineup, including fitness tracking functionality and allowing users to connect the watch to their smartphones to take photos and control music, including attractive designs for women and men too.
Fossil is bringing us six new models: The Q Marshal, Q Wander, Q Crewmaster, Q Nate, Q Gazer, and Q Tailor. The first two are the next generation of the Q Founder with slight changes in the cases and a faster processor. The rest might look as standard analog watches, but they have different innovative features to track distance, steps, and calories, while they allow us to use them as remotes.
What do the Q Marshall and Q Wander offer?
Fossil is an American manufacturer of accessories founded in 1984 by Tom Kartosis. It focuses mainly on luxury high-quality watches and jewelry working alongside brands such as Armani, Karl Lagerfeld, and Marc Jacobs. Currently, their watches are used by millions worldwide, and it is acknowledged due to the high functionality, and quality of their long-lasting gadgets.
Its Q Marshal measures 1.77 inches around, a little bit smaller than the Original Q Founder. It is about 0.5-inch ticker. The case is painted black, and it has a single button on the right side of it. The watch has an ambient light sensor that permits automatic adjustment of the screen brightness. It has a 22mm leather strap. It has basic fitness tracking, and it is rated IP68 for water resistance, surviving splashes but let’s take it off in case we are headed to the pool.
The Q Wander is kind of the same thing as the Q Marshal, but with a slightly different style, intended to be more appealing to women. It might come with silver and rose gold stainless band or a light brown leather band. Both Q Marshal and Q Wander are among the first watches to use the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2100 chip, a processor that consumes less battery among other improvements. Their cost is $295 and $315, respectively.
Fossil innovates with the Analog Qs
The four other additions of Fossil- Q Crewmaster, Q Nate, Q Gazer, and Q Tailor- integrate alarm, fitness tracking, enabling us to have activity goals, push notification and sleep monitoring. These analog-looking watches allow us to connect to our smartphones while using the button as a remote to takes pictures and control the music we’re listening to. Also, we can use fitness apps such as Google Fit and Apple Health. The battery lasts around six months.
But if you are wondering how to differentiate them, the truth is that the differences are mainly in the designs. The Q Nate is larger. The Q Gazer is more feminine with a rose gold case covered in jewels. On the other hand, the Q Tailor is the most elegant and minimalist watch of the group, while the Q Crewmaster is intended to be sporty and colorful. Their cost is around $175. But sadly for the fitness lovers, the watches do not include a heart-rate monitor. As well, they are not waterproof. The good news is that the designs are meant to attract women and men, and they are not expensive.
