Guile is back on Street Fighter V

A classic and old favorite character from Street Fighter will be back soon. Capcom announced today that what will be available in their Street Fighter V April update and with it, there also came some news regarding their second downloadable character (DLC), Guile.

Capcom doesn’t stop there, also his Air Force Base stage will also be available as a Downloadable Content priced at 70,000 “fight money”, where season pass holders will be able to get it for free.

Who is Guile?

Guile first appears in Street Fighter II back in 1991 as one of the eight selectable characters featured in the first release of the game. The in-game story of Guile starts when he leaves his country and family to enter the World Warrior tournament to avenge the death of his friend Charlie, who was killed by M. Bison, the tournament’s sponsor, sometime before the events of the game.

Guile, just like every other character in a fighting game, has his signature moves, on Street Fighter V the Sonic Boom attack to his foes can either extend his combos or just keep enemies in the corner of the screen. Also, his Critical Art is one of the most helpful specials seen so far.

Additional to this, a new special known as the Sonic Hurricane has been added, where it creates a huge projectile of Sonic Boom that keeps hitting the enemy until a massive amount of damage is dealt.

Guile should have been part of the Street Fighter V universe since the beginning, just for being one of the main characters of the series; but he at least made it out becoming a DLC.

Chill out, raging gamers

Also on this April update, Capcom also improved an anti-rage quitting system that will be implemented, where players who leave a battle will be banned from playing online matches for a certain period of time. More is being done to counter anti-rage quitting in the game, so chill out the next time you are losing in an online match.

More additions will be added to the system in a near future, but April’s update makes various other matchmaking improvements and will wipe out a few bugs.
