The first-in-the-nation primary contest will be held in New Hampshire where votes will reveal what polls are saying: if Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Bernie Sanders will lead among the candidates.
Polls will be opened on Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET. Later, after results are published, lots of questions could be answered.
Last week, Donald Trump fell short of his polling numbers in Iowa, so now he is trying to turn all the support he once received into votes. Last polls revealed that John Kasich bested Trump 3-2 among Republicans, while Sanders claimed all four votes among Democrats.
The latest CNN daily tracking poll on Monday showed Sanders with a 26-point lead over Clinton. On the Republican side, Trump was able to maintain the lead with 31%, then followed by Marco Rubio with 17%. Cruz was third with 14%, ahead of John Kasich with 10%, Jeb Bush with 7% and Christie at last with 4%.
Trump understands how crucial New Hampshire contest is to his campaign.
“I could say to you if I came in second and third I’d be thrilled, okay? I know all about expectations. If I came in second I wouldn’t be happy, okay?” Trump said.
Clinton and Sanders also clashed over the former New York senator’s ties to Wall Street and her campaign’s attacks on his foreign policy. Only hours from the primary, a report was published saying that Hilary and her husband, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, were disappointed with the direction of her campaign and that a staff shakeup could be in the offing, but it was dismissed immediately.
“There is zero truth to what you may be reading. It’s wrong. Hillary stands behind her team, period,” wrote John Podesta, the Clinton campaign chairman, on Twitter.
