HTC Corp will present its new high-end smartphone HTC 10 on April 19, according to Evan Blast, current mobile editorialist at Venturebeat. It is expected that the powerful device will be equipped with a Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM and a 12MP Ultrapixel camera.
On Friday, Blast (also known as @evleaks), surprised tech lovers and HTC followers by publishing pictures of what seems to be the new HTC 10. The device has a beautiful grey metal body, an arched back, a single camera and a dual-LED flash.
“In case it wasn’t obvious, I’d say that Tuesday, April 19th — the date on the screen — is nearly a lock for HTC 10 launch.” He wrote on Saturday.
Rumors seem to suggest that the HTC 10 will come with a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820, the same processor used by the LG G5. Moreover, it will have a 5.2-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display, a 12 MP UltraPixel rear camera, 4GB of RAM, a fingerprint scanner and 32GB of expandable storage, according to Phonearena.
It appears that the HTC 10 will also feature a USB Type-C, according to pictures published by Evan Blast. Such a characteristic will be well-received by early-adopters and users, who criticized Samsung for presenting a Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Edge with Micro USB instead of a USB Type-C port.
“Huawei P9 launches on April 6”
Evan Blast continued to leak information on Sunday, saying that the Huawei P9 will be launched on April 6. It is expected that the Chinese multinational company will present four variants of the P9.
Last year, Huawei became the world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer, by selling an impressive 108 million smartphones. According to leaks coming from China, the models should cost between $289 and $627.
The P9 Lite version will come with a modest Snapdragon 650, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. However, the top-end models will come with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Huawei executives are planning to overcome Apple and Samsung in smartphone sales in the future.
“We hope that in three years our market share can be top two and in five years our market share can be top one,” Richard Yu, chief executive of Huawei consumer business group, told CNBC in a TV interview at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
