Rapper Iggy Azalea released her new single “Team” and its music video on Friday. Her first single since her collaboration with Britney Spears on “Pretty Girls” last year is part of her forthcoming album Digital Distortion. The news comes as Azalea postponed her wedding and revealed an unfortunate “psychotic breakdown” she went through in 2015.
The 25-year-old rapper told Schön! Magazine that she had a really hard time last year when she lost control of herself because of the media’s aggressively negative narrative of her. She said she even lost her own perception of who she was while other people were describing her as a villain.
Azalea also had suicide thoughts. She said on Power 106 FM in L.A. that she sometimes wanted to quit everything, including life. During her dark patch, the artist would think it would be best to keep driving off the canyon.
The VMA winner canceled last summer a series of tour dates and told Seventeen that she needed a mental break. Luckily, she eventually realized that no one can control what other people say and accepted the whole thing, learning to move on to living her life.

Azalea told Schön! Magazine that her energy has been renewed and talked about the reason why she postponed her wedding with Lakers player Nick Young. She wants to focus on her work while she’s still planning the big day.
“It was gonna happen at the end of the year, but now I have to go to work. We’ll probably have to wait until the end of the next basketball season to do that”, she said on Friday during an On Air with Ryan Seacrest interview.
Both the rapper and her husband-to-be agree with the decision of postponing the ceremony. She said Nick was totally understanding and even jokes by happily saying he gets to be a bachelor for longer.
As for the honeymoon, they had already booked it, so she will have a great vacation after her tour. She will then be ready for the real honeymoon when the time comes.
