Melania Trump gave a speech on Wednesday condemning cyber-bullying in front of the worldwide leader’s spouses at the United Nations luncheon, in New York. The first lady demanded all the adults of the nation to be an example for the American children. According to the first lady, these kids will be the next leaders in charge of building the country and its values.
Ms. Trump believes that children will grow and continue being an example for the following generations. She said this responsibility lies in the hands of all of us, and that everyone should be concerned about this matter that affects the youngest American population.
The first lady said to the leader’s spouses that the entire world “must teach each other the values of empathy and communication that are at the core of kindness, mindfulness, integrity, and leadership.”
“Show me your civic lessons of today and I will show you your civic leaders of tomorrow. Show me your history lessons of today, and I will show you your political leaders of tomorrow,” the first lady said. “Show me the loving bonds between your families today, and I will show you the patriotism and moral clarity of your nation tomorrow.”
The speech was hot in social media not only because it touched many peoples’ heart, but because users felt it like an impressive and eloquent irony.
Media users commented about Trump’s bellicose attitude
Many people consider her husband, the US President, as one of the biggest American cyber-bullies due to the aggressive approach he has in his public life – online and offline. He has been sharply criticized for many reasons since the beginning of his Presidential campaign – and even before it ever took place.
Mr. Trump publicly nicknamed two of his political opponents as “Low Energy Jeb” and “Little Marco.”
Many gossips were made among the UN leader’s spouses, and Melania Trump didn’t mention her husband during the entire speech.
“If we look at the present state of children in any society, we will see the future that our world can expect tomorrow,” Ms. Trump said. “Together, we must acknowledge that, all too often, it is the weakest, most innocent and vulnerable among us, our children, who ultimately suffer the most from the challenges that plague our societies.”
The media also criticized Melania for her dress
Born in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, Melania Trump has followed a modeling career since she was 16. She also claims to have a degree in architecture and design from the University of Ljubljana since 2006, but some say she dropped her university studies on the last year of her career.
She worked in Milan and Paris before moving to New York in 1996. According to Biography, she’s appeared in celebrated magazines – like Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, GQ, and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Unfortunately, Ms. Trump was a target of cyber-bullies due to her expensive and notoriously pink dress with voluminous sleeves.
Social media users linked the first lady’s dress to many funny references. Experts reported the dress price was up to $3,000 (£2,222) – according to the BBC.
