Some details from the new LG V10 smartphone have been released for users. One of the most important and highly cited features is the two screens to enhance the productivity of the phone without compromising on the device’s battery power.
The two screens have been built in a way that they look like a single glass sheet. The ‘Second Screen’ works independently and has been placed on the primary QHD display sported by the LG V10. It has a separate backlight to power it as well.
“Always pushing the boundaries of smartphone innovation, LG is introducing a Second Screen as an inset display above the main 5.7-inch QHD IPS Quantum Display on the V10,” wrote the company in the LG News Room.
The objective of the ‘Second Screen’ is to function as an “always on” display that shows the weather, time, date and battery icon when the main display is off. When this last one is on, the ‘Second Screen’ helps saving battery and time by becoming an area for shortcuts of the costumer’s favorite apps.
“What’s more, when you’re enjoying a movie or game on the V10, the Second Screen will notify you discreetly without blocking your view when a call or text comes in. Ignoring the notification won’t distract you from your enjoyment or you can pause whatever you’re doing to respond,” writes the post.
According to LG, users unlock their smartphone 100 times daily to check every alert that comes in. The idea of the ‘Secondary Screen’ is to help users to mitigate this action and save nearly 5 percent of the battery power of the smartphone.
Other features
Among other features, LG will also have 5MP Dual Front Cameras with two separate lenses to capture 80 degrees selfies or wide angle selfies of 120, avoiding the user to pan the smartphone, which increases camera shake, or to use a selfie-stick. Multi view recording can also capture different angles utilizing all three cameras on the V10.
On the other side, LG claims that the V10 is the first smartphone to offer the manual creation of professional-quality videos. These videos can be recorded in three resolutions — HD, FHD or UHD — and two aspect ratios — 16:9 standard or 21:9 cinematic.
LG V10 was also made for resisting hard bumps and tumbles. It has a Dura Guard frame that is composed of SAE grade 316L stainless steel, the same material used to make surgical tools and high-end watches. The edges of the phone are also highly protected by this frame.
Lastly, the LG V10 comes with a fingerprint sensor to unlock the smartphone and turn on the display at the same time. It also works with Android Pay in the United States to make purchases.
