Melania Trump has broken the silence about the vulgar language used by his husband, the GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, when referring to women. Melania has said that the words used by Donald were simply “unacceptable and offensive” to her.
The regrettable conversation became popular after it was leaked by The Washington Post. It was held between Donald Trump and the “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush, in 2005. Following that, Donald Trump apologized for the disparaging and outrageous language he used eleven years ago when talking about women. However, he said that he will not leave the race as he has been asked by several members of the Republican Party.
“The media and establishment want me out of the race so badly – I WILL NEVER DROP OUT OF THE RACE, WILL NEVER LET MY SUPPORTERS DOWN!” wrote Donald Trump via Twitter.
Melania: ‘this does not represent the man that I know’
On Friday, the audio was leaked from a hot mic that recorded the then-private conversation between Trump and Billy Bush as they were in a bus on their way to the set of “Days of Our lives”. The audio was published by The Washington Post on Friday. In it, we can hear Trump saying that he uses his influences on women, even going as far as saying “grab them by the p…” He said that it is easy to seduce women when you are a star. In response, the Republican nominee released a video offering an apology to those offended by his comments.
“This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course – not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended,” Said Trump
However, people is not that convinced about the “sincerity” shown by Trump. And this will surely be a hot topic during the second one-on-one debate with Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, which will take place in St. Louis tomorrow night. The audience could reach up to 90 million viewers. On the other hand, Clinton hasn’t stayed silent about the controversy. She wrote on her twitter account that it was horrific and that a man like Trump cannot become president.
Melania expects people to accept Donald’s apology
After Melania referred to his husband’s words in 2005 as “unacceptable and offensive”, she also said, in spite of the contradiction, that she accepts his apologies and hopes people do the same.
“This does not represent the man that I know”, she said “He has the heart and mind of a leader,” she continued. “I hope people will accept his apology, as I have…”
Several high-profile Republicans are asking Trump to withdraw from the race. However, Trump just affirmed early this morning that he was receiving an unbelievable support.
On the other hand, Billy Bush deleted his twitter account after the conversation was leaked. He also issued an apology saying he was ashamed and embarrassed by what he did. He added that there was no excuse for such comments, but he pledged for his immaturity and said he acted like a fool 11 years ago.
