New York- The Voice, the NBC’s singing competition show welcomes top R&B singer Alicia Keys and controversial pop star Miley Cyrus as new judges in the upcoming season on September 2016.
Cyrus and Keys will be getting red chairs as new coaches and judges on NBC’s The Voice. The network announced it will be the first time the four-person judging panel will figure two women. In previous seasons, one woman and three men were the choices.
The two top artists will be joining country star, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. Cyrus and Keys will be replacing previous judges Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani, who has been rumored as Blake Shelton’s new girlfriend.
Even though Shelton and Adam Levine have been regular judges in past seasons, the network tends to rotate judges dependent on their schedules. Prior to Stefani and Pharrell, pop singer Christina Aguilera and latin superstar Shakira were part of the panel.
Cyrus and Keys are no strangers to the show, they had previously appear as advisors and mentors in previous seasons of the show.
Other previous judges such as Christina Aguilera and Pharrell remain in the bullpen. While Gwen Stefani will be serving as a mentor on this season of the show.
The announcement was made through the show’s official Twitter account, sharing the hashtag #AliciaAndMiley. The announcement was later issued by Miley Cyrus in her Twitter account.
This year Miley Cyrus released her new album in the month of August and is currently in the center of the media, while planning her long-awaited wedding with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.
On the other hand, R&B artist Alicia Keys is currently working in her sixth album studio, that is has been rumored to be released later on this year.
