Former NFL player found dead in motel room

The Police Department of Milwaukee (PDM) told the press that Bryan Robinson, a 41-year-old NFL veteran, was found unresponsive in a motel room. The police said they found the man at the Midpoint Motel and took him to the hospital, and at 10:17 p.m. he was declared dead.

According to Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s office, the results of the autopsy and the toxicology test are going to be ready by Monday. Robinson did not have any visible wounds, and the officers found no sign of foul play in the room.

“We are saddened to hear of the loss of Bryan Robinson. He will be remembered for the determination and work ethic he displayed on the field over his six years in Chicago. The Bears and our fans will always be indebted to him for his game-saving blocked goal in Green Bay Six days after Walter Payton’s passing. Our prayers are with Bryan and his family,” reads a post on the official twitter account of the Chicago Bears.

Robinson played his most memorable game when he was wearing the Bears’ uniform. The team from Chicago was struggling to preserve a victory, but the difference in the score was just too little. There were only 5 minutes left in the game, and Green Bay only needed an a-flied goal to defeat the Bears.

The Packers stormed the Bears and managed to invade their territory just enough to at a scoring distance. Ryan Longwell got into position, and then, kicked the ball in a 28-yard goal field attempt, but from behind the defense, Bryan Robinson managed to jump very and block the shot with his right hand. That allowed the Bears to keep the victory and break a 10-game losing streak against the Green Bay squad.

Robinson had a very long career

Robinson started his career wearing the St. Louis Rams’ shirt in 1997, and then he went to do his best roles with the Bears in Chicago. After six years, he went to the Miami Dolphins, and only a year later he went to play a couple of seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. His last professional team was the Arizona Cardinals. He wore the Cardinals uniform from 2008 to 2010 when he retired. From all the teams where he played, only the Bears and the Cardinals gave their condolences to the family.

There was a similar case back in 2014 when Todd Williams, former Tennessee Titans, was found dead in a hotel room at a Florida hotel. As with Robinson, there was no sign of violence, but his friends and family reported that the also retired NFL veteran had been complaining from an unknown disease.

The authorities said they expected to reveal the details of the autopsy, and possibly, a cause of death by the end of Monday. The PDM talked directly to the Chicago Tribune, but there is no information available on “The Source” which is an official website where the department informs about the latest events.
