Fayetteville, NC – An unsuccessful robbery-attempt happened at one of the 24-hour chain Waffle House, where a customer fought against a would-be robber – armed with an AK-47 kind of rifle – early Saturday.
The attempt happened last Saturday at about 5:20am at 650 S. Reilly Road Waffle House located in Fayetteville; a black male entered the local and pointed a so-called AK-47 – or resembling rifle – at employees demanding for money, who was later confronted by a patron leading to a struggle between them; several patrons chased the man from the restaurant.
The suspect –described by the police as a black man in-between the ages of 18 and 25 years old, with about 5’9” – 5’11” tall, thin build with dread locks – ran and was chased by several customers but was lost after being last seen jumping a fence in Highland Rentals area in the 600 block of South Reilly Road.
The suspect also was wearing a black & grey hoodie with a red hoodie underneath – hoodieception too much? –, grey pants and a yellow bandana over his face, according to police statements about the thwarted robbery.
Waffle House spokeswoman’s Kelly Thrasher-Bruner said on an email that no one at the restaurant was available to comment. She also expressed that no one was hurt during the incident, especially their customers, who helped prevent the robbery.
Also, the Waffle House manager stated this Monday that employees aren’t allowed to talk with reported and referred question to company headquarters in Norcross, Georgia – that’s why no one have too much information of about what exactly happened on Saturday.
