The independent game developer studio Harmonix announced the newest addition to their Rock & Roll game, Rock band 4.
Since the first release of the game, there has been new addings and improvements based on gamer feedback and a better experience. Well, Rock Band players have had an answer to their prayers with the latest addition to the game, synchronous online multiplayer is happening. That’s right, now players can battle each other in real time on the stage, playing both their favorite rock n’ roll song.
The announcement was made by the Harmonix game studio at this year’s Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in Boston Massachusetts. The team also announced a big expansion pack will be available somewhere in the 2016 fall.
The multiplayer feature is coming back to the game adapted and enhanced, although previously a multiplayer option was available in earlier games. But the interface had some troubles with the different versions of the game the players around the world had, and with the downloadable content (DLC).
Enhanced multiplayer experience at its best
The team explained that Rock Band’s come-back will feature a quick play between users around the world, yet it has been modified so the game can be enjoyed as it should. Solving issues with the different versions of the game and the DLC content is a good start for Harmonix’s latest addition to the franchise.
Harmonix also explained the issue Rock Band was having with the original multiplayer platform and even addressing the annoying issue of the downloadable content on the different versions of the game.
“We’ll be implementing enhancements on the back end (think of it like our secret sauce) that’ll address issues for folks who don’t have the exact same DLC libraries and the like. This secret sauce will help avoid some of the more difficult areas from the previous generation,” said a statement published by Harmonix.
The game developer studio addressed the problem gamers had back in Rock Band 3 when in multiplayer mode. One of the glitches was the fact that the other player lasted long time picking every one of the songs in the list. According to the team, the new back end optimizations will help solve the issue permanently. The online multiplayer platform will be available in the expansion pack launching early on fall.
New playlists and features
Harmonix also announced a couple of characters that will be available for free when the game is released. Mio and Thorn, two characters from the game are now for everybody’s choice to decide on in May. On the other hand, learners or perfectionists of the game have been granted practice mode.
The expansion pack, as announced by the Harmonix team, will also include some never-before seen features that will let users play the game in different and interesting games.
As for the music library in the game’s repertoir, new songs that include The Cranberries, Van Halen, U2, The Who, St. Vincent and even One Direction will be available for Rock Band 4.
