Despite Google’s best efforts to keep things quite, there are several rumors about its new OS. For a long time it was known only as Android N, but since June everybody knows the real name is “Nougat.” People still don’t know whether the company is going to release a new smartphone to work exclusively with its OS. Ever since the name of its new products was revealed, Fitbit has also been the target of a lot of speculation. Besides their usual work, both companies are rumored to be focusing on smartwatches to compete directly with Apple.
Google has given a lot to talk since the directors of the company said they wanted to concentrate on the mobile gadget market. Even though there is more information on its new OS, Nougat is still the target of speculation. Nevertheless, the biggest theory going around the net is that the company will manufacture its smartphone with an exclusive OS to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone.
However, according to Neurogadget, HTC would be in charge of developing the new two Nexus models called Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin. If the information is true, the latter would be the flagship of the new generation, and they both would be released in August running the great expected Android Nougat OS. Also, the guys at Android Police said the company would also be working on a couple of smartwatches called Angelfish and Swordfish. There are some details on the technical aspects of both the smartwatches and the handsets, but it comes from an unidentified source.
Fitbit might be releasing a couple of smartwatches to accompany the new software
In January, Fitbit announced its new smartwatch called Blaze. According to the company, it is a watch focused on the fitness functions the company is famous for with the extra apps all the other smartwatches have. In addition to the features it kept from the previous mode, the Surge, the Blaze is connected to GPS which allows the user to maintain track of his movements. Also, it is attached to the company’s database which gives customers access to different workout routines that are displayed on the watch’s led screen.
But according to the information going around, Blaze is not the only thing Fitbit is going to release this year. The team at Wearable managed to contact an inside source, and they were told the successors for the famous trackers are on their way to the stores. The source said the company was already testing them in the wild by people wearing black wristbands to conceal the trackers. If the information is right, the devices would be already in the live trial phase. All these would be confirmed at the IFA Berlin which is the largest consumer electronics event in the world.
All in all, these are all speculations, but luckily, the rumors will be confirmed or debunked in the next couple of months.
