The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be available for pre-order on August 16, while it will be available in stores on August 19 in the United States. The latest Samsung’s phablet is competing with the upcoming iPhone 7 Plus. The fact that Samsung Gear VR pre-orders are now live on Amazon could represent an advantage for the South Korean company.
The Note 7 has a 5.7 in Quad-HD screen, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The new phablet comes with a 64-bit Octa-core processor capable of processing vivid graphics. It is expected to be launched on all major carriers in the United States on August 19, according to Tech Times. Samsung decided to name its newest product with the number 7, even though the last Note was the Galaxy Note 5. According to Samsung, they have skipped a number to eliminate some errors in its product line.
But the main reason behind the number 7 is the new iPhone. Naming the device as “Galaxy Note 6” would give customers the impression that the phablet is inferior when compared to Apple’s new devices: the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.
The Note 7 includes a microUSB slot for cards of up to 256GB. The S Pen has been enhanced and now offers water-resistance. The camera of the new phone is dual pixel with 12Mp with OIS and f/1.7 aperture. The selfie camera has 5Mp and f/1.7 aperture.
Samsung announced that the Note 7 comes with Dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, and GPS, GLONASS, Beidou.
