Nashville, Tennessee – Today afternoon three teens and one adult were injured after a shooting in downtown Nashville, specifically in the Music City Central bus station, according to media reports.
The bus station is the central transfer station for schoolchildren and other passengers. The center services 20,000 passengers daily.
Witnesses called the police who arrived at the scene at 3:45 p.m. Two teen suspects are in custody for investigation. Their identities have not been revealed up to now and the reasons for the shooting are unknown yet. A handgun that seems to be used in the afternoon shootings was recovered at the scene.
Police said that this shooting was due to an altercation between two teens. In a news conference, police informed that apparently a window washer spotted two 17-year-olds run from the Music City Central and toss a gun into a row of hedges. The bus was just unloading when the shooting began.
Injured people were taken to a hospital near the scene, an 18-year-old, identified as Jovius Chapman, was shot in the stomach and is reportedly in critical conditions. A 15-year-old was shot and a 17-year-old was grazed by a bullet. Additionally, a 17-year-old was shot in the ankle.
What’s going on?
This incident adds to the shooting happened on April 23 when 8 family members were killed while they were sleeping in their own home in Ohio. And, on April 24, one man was killed inside the Keystone Fellowship Church during the service of 11:00 a.m. in Montgomery County. Later that same day, another shooting occurred at Antigo High School at night where 18-year-old Jakob Wagner shoot against students during a prom party.
