The irish songwriter Sinead O’Connor was found safe on Monday morning after being reported missing and suicidal in northern Chicago yesterday.
The 49 year old singer was last seen on Sunday going for a morning bike-ride at 6.am. in Wilmette Chicago. The songwriter was not seen after she was staying at a close friend’s house over the weekend.
Sinead O’Connor was last seen in a Raleigh motorized bicycle that had a pink basket. The singer was wearing a black shirt with leather pants and a sweatshirt that read ‘Ireland‘ on the back.
Sargeant Michael Robinson from the Chicago Police told People Magazine a well-being alert had been issued when the singer didn’t return after the morning bike ride. She had previously been under medication for suicidal behavior.
On Monday morning, O’Connor was found in a nearby hotel by police officers and was then taken to a hospital for a check up. She has previous history of bipolar disorder and suicidal thoughts.

The irish singer is most known for her 1990 hit “Nothing compares 2 u” written by recently deceased artist Prince.
She has been in the public eye for her rebellious behavior and strong points of view, she has stated her strong opinion on the traditional views of women in modern society and for her legal battles over her son.
She has previously attempted suicide, leaving goodbye notes to her fans on Facebook and blaming members of her family for personal problems she has encountered. Earlier this month the artist posted a note to her 28 year old son on his facebook.
The note addressed her on-going battle over her 12 year old son.
“Do not abandon your brother or any other of my babies again. What you have done to your brother and your mother is criminal” read the note.
The artist is currently on a legal battle after pledging that the comedian, Arsenio Hall was Prince’s drug dealer.
