On Tuesday, artist Willie Nelson published on his Twitter account the present that his rapper friend Snoop Dogg had given him. The photo shows a sweater that says “Smoke Weed Everyday,” decorated with a Christmas style.
This gift just represents another chapter on the Snoop-Nelson friendship through the years. Both artists have collaborated several times, in songs like “Superman,” “My Medicine,” and “Roll Me Up.”
Snoop replied and reposted the photo from Nelson’s Twitter in Instagram, attached to the link of the shop that made the sweater. In Geetdeez.com, there is a variety of Snoop-related knits that feature his most iconic lyrics.
Among the available commodity from the store, there is one crewneck that has a picture of Snoop Dogg with famous chef and kitchen star Martha Stewart, along with other sweaters with different lyrics.
Nelson and Snoop friendship: Iconic episodes
Snoop Dogg said to an audience in the South by Southwest Festival 2015 that the friendship started back in 2008 when they did the song “My Medicine” together. According to Snoop, both artists were fans of each other before realizing that they had to work together at some point.
Nelson tells that while he was in Amsterdam, he received a call from the rapper that was in New York. He asked him to travel to Europe and they “hung out for a few days.” Snoop says that they played dominoes and smoke pot in different ways from “paper, bong, and a volcano.”
Then, in one of the most epic stories, Snoop tells how they got hungry and went to the nearest KFC store.
“We pull up in the drive thru. And we’re ordering the chicken, they give it to us, and when they give it to us, they hand us the big bucket. We take the top off, and we both put our hands in at the same time, and we grab the same piece of chicken at the same damn time. And I say, ‘You know what, Willie, that’s yours, go on take that, dog,” the rapper said in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on his Late Nigh Show.
Nelson’s marijuana experiences with several artists
Snoop Dogg is not the only artist that has had an experience of this type with the country legend. Dave Matthews, Toby Keith, and Robert Earl Keen also have shared their experiences with Nelson and every one of them have been amazing, according to the singers.
Right now, Nelson is the co-chairman of the advisory board of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. In one of his most epic stories, Nelson said that he smoked marijuana on the top of the White House back when Jimmy Carter was President.
