The MTV Movie Awards 2016 were celebrated Saturday night on the Warner Bros backlot in Burbank, California, and the winner was announced before the official edited-down version that will run tonight at 8 P.M on MTV.
MTV decided to change strategy and left behind the drama linked to who’s going home with a statue, they hope that the audience will tune for the spectacle of the awards itself, or maybe they think people would want to know what were the hosts, Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, up to during the show.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens was the big winner of the night, they took the award for Movie of the Year. Deadpool had a good night as well with Ryan Reynolds winning Best Comedic Performance and Best Fight prize for the climactic battle between Deadpool and Ajax. The Straight Outta Compton won the True Story category, leaving behind other true stories such as Joy and Steve Jobs.

New trailer for Suicide Squad made a big impact on fans
The expectation and excitement for Suicide Squad are almost palpable, fans are having great reactions to the trailers and they seem to respond to the comedic element of the movie.
According to the Los Angeles Times, during the MTV Movie Awards 2016, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto and Cara Delevingne, the main cast of Suicide Squad, took the stage to introduce the brand new trailer, and the fans were so excited that they almost shot down the barricades that were holding them back.
For the joy of the fans, seems like Warner Bros in intending to fill the expectations they have for the upcoming blockbuster. According to the reports, the movie has been undergoing some reshoots, trying to decide whether it’s to insert more action or more fun.
