Although the action game Uncharted 4 was announced a long time ago, with two months of waiting still to go, Sony showcased a brand new story trailer. The action-packed trailer shows the main character Nathan Drake on his fourth and final adventure.
The newly released clip shows the protagonist Nathan Drake reuniting with his long lost brother. Although the main character appears to have moved on with his life, as he settled down with the love of his life, Elena Fisher. Sam, Nathan’s brother, lures him back into action as they journey into a final adventure in search of hidden treasures.
While the trailer shows how much action the new sequel will bring to players, it also gives fans a glimpse of the new character Nadine Ross. A character fans know nothing about and it will surely bring a dose of action and impulsive decisions.
“Sometimes a character just lets you know it’s time to move on,” said Druckmann in a visit to developer Naughty Dog’s studio. “For me, that was part of the intrigue of coming back to this world. You never see something successful in the industry end,” he added.
The end of a franchise
The Uncharted franchise will finish its legacy with the new story, which will end the fortune hunter’s tale, surely bringing players a respectable ending. Directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley were responsible for creating the ‘Uncharted’ series and to them; it was time to move on from Drake’s story.
It’s worth noticing that since the release of the original game in 2007, Sony has sold over 21 million copies of the Uncharted series. The sequel to the game was set for release in 2015 originally, yet due to delays in the creation of the game Naughty Dog announced it would be pushed to March 2016. However, the studio confirmed that there would be another delay on the game release, pushing it to April 2016 this time.
“This is the biggest, most ambitious ‘Uncharted’ that Naughty Dog has ever endeavored to take on,” said director Bruce Straley. “We want to do this justice. We want to make sure Drake is sent off properly.”
The game is sure to satisfy the fans expectations, as it will count with plenty of explosions, action, plot twists and even fights against pirates. The main character Nathan Drake would have a dilemma between supporting his long lost brother or the love of his life, Elena. Nevertheless, the director’s choice to conclude Drake’s story it’s a bold decision to make, as the franchise continues to show it’s profitable.
