U.S. airports’ security check up lines in crisis

An increasing crisis is assaulting airports across the nation with hours-long security line check ups. Passengers are facing long and standing lines to check in before travel, causing the majority to lose their scheduled flights.

Passengers and airlines are emitting a call to the Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) in order to reduce the long lines caused by security checkups.

Airports from all across the country are advising passengers to arrive extra-early in order to approve security measures without losing a flight, while offering standing passengers distractions and snacks.

Gigantic lines across the country

Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) measurements are resulting in hour- long lines for airport passengers from different states of the country.

The crisis has gone viral in the country with hashtags such as #IHateTheWait and different social media videos that show the enormous lines forming on different airports. And what’s more, the United States Travel Association has labeled the situation as a ‘national crisis’ for airports and travelers.

A Chicago Midway airport became viral after a passenger recorded the hours-long line that made its way up to the parking garage of the location. Similar videos are being shown in Twitter by uncomfortable clients as well.

Travels in the U.S are collapsing thanks to the crisis. In Phoenix, around 3,000 bags missed their flight for a computer glitch on the TSA’s system.

Jeh Johnson, the Secretary of Homeland Security assured the issue is being taken care of. All without compromising travel security needed in the nation’s airports.

“We will not compromise the security of aviation or the American people,” said Johnson in a press conference  last week.

A TSA plan is being developed to improve the situation by reducing the size and the number of carry-on bags that passengers pass through every checkpoint. The TSA is also using airline or airport employees to help with TSA jobs, such as moving bins and authorizing overtime.

Users have been blasting Twitter and social media with their discomfort on losing flights and enduring hours of lines.

American Airlines at the Chicago O’Hare airport had to roll out coats since 450 of their passengers had missed their flights on Saturday night.  Even though airports are suggesting arriving ‘extra-early’ and reporting on the line formation, the crisis continues.

The TSA created its PreCheck plan, where passengers could pass security measures even weeks before traveling, to reduce the wait on lines yet this has resulted in long lines at these locations, with people waiting even three hours to check for a flight that is schedule 3 weeks later.

The PreCheck option costs around $85 and allows passengers to arrive to the airport and pass through the TSA checkpoints.

Airports are complaining with the TSA and creating amusing distractions for their passengers in line.  On the Cincinnati/Northern International Airport the option has been trying miniature therapy horses for passengers to get distracted.

San Diego Airport has opted for clowns into the airport for distraction while others hand out bottled water and snacks for the passengers. Both airports and passengers are awaiting the TSA new strategy to reduce this long lines.
