Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is clearly a bet for open spaces, as the adventure takes place in really vast territories that require the use of a 4×4 truck. Developer Naughty Dog folds everything learned from the previous versions of the game into a fresh take. Uncharted 4 is expected to be released for PlayStation 4 on May 10.
The story is about Nate hunting for the lost pirate treasure of Henry Evory alongside his long-lost/recently returned brother, Sam, and Sully as they’re up against fortune-seeker Rafe Adler and his mercenary help. The game is set in Madagascar, where both groups search for Libertalia, a lost pirate colony.
Yes, things are quite different in Uncharted 4. The rocky, mud-slicked wilderness of the island country force Nate’s team to rent a 4×4 truck equipped with a front-mounted winch and serious horsepower that it will need to handle the muddier inclines of the Indian Ocean located country. Finding a lost pirate colony requires serious devices.
The game does not quite fit into the “open world” game category, but the truck not only plays the role of a narrative device. Given that the Madagascar wilderness is vast, the truck represents a fun spin on poking around for collectibles.
The 4×4 helps cover more ground while exploring outside the main paths to be rewarded with goodies. The truck’s winch is also a great tool for solving puzzles. When a muddy hill appears in the way, Nate can wrap the winch around a tree so that the truck hauls itself up the slope. Besides, in emergency situations, the winch can be used to pull down two support beams in order to transform it into a ramp.
More options to approach locations and more realistic effects
Gamers playing Uncharted 4 can follow any number of paths through a level. Even though several locations can’t be skipped because they’re essential to the story, players can choose between different approaches to the same location by using different tools.
Huge vistas and amazing landscapes are one of the first things gamers will notice about Uncharted 4. This game has more detail in environments and character models and just about every object reacts to others, which evokes realistic sensations.
