On Monday, the Hulu streaming service launched a new Universal Hulu app that could be used on Windows 10 PCs and devices. Originally, users could only use Hulu on laptops and computers, but now they can also use it on any internet-connected device.
Hulu is an American online company that offers a selection of TV shows, clips, and movies on its website. Subscribers can access available episodes from different channels in HD. The app is available for download in the Windows Store and it now comes preinstalled on all Windows 10 PCs, including any kind of internet-connected devices such as smartphones, tablets, Xbox, and more.
Cortana and Live Tiles
Another great feature is that Hulu works perfectly with Cortana and Live Tiles. The Hulu app on Windows 10 is the only version of Hulu that uses universal voice search through Cortana. Users will be able to choose from a large selection of television shows and movies, and simply ask Cortana to play them.
You could easily say something like “Cortana, play Hulu Game of Thrones, first season, episode 1” and that will be it. And if you need to pause the show, you can simply say it and it will happen.
Live Tiles make it easier to see featured shows. After the Hulu app is isntalled and pinned in the Start menu of the device, it will keep users updated about shows that are being featured on the service.
According to Hulu’s Senior Vice President of Experience Ben Smith, “taking advantage of the momentum of Windows 10, the Hulu app features integration with Cortana [and] Live Tiles, and is built on the Universal Windows Platform,” as reported by PC Magazine.
Sadly, the app is only available in the USA.
