Zelda Williams celebrates her father’s birthday donating to charity

The beloved and famous actor Robin Williams would have turned 65 years old Thursday and her daughter Zelda Williams wrote a post on Instagram to wish him a happy birthday and to tell him how much she and her brothers miss him.

Zelda Williams, 27, posted on Instagram a black and white picture of his father, her brothers and her having a happy moment when they were children and Robin Williams much younger and with a mustache.

The young actress wrote that she is still not sure how to face his father’s birthday after his death. She continued and said that because she cannot give him a present, she will have to give one in his name instead.

Zelda stated in her post that Robin Williams was passionate about charity and mentions that she donated to an organization that involves 3 of the causes her father tried to help: rescue dogs, people that suffer from disabilities and wounded veterans. She announced that she made a gift in his honor to the freedomservicedogs.org and explained that the rescue organization dogs from shelters and train them to pair them with someone that needs their companionship.

“Happy birthday Poppo. Shasha, Zakky, Codeman and I all love you and miss you like crazy. X,” said Robin Williams’ daughter ending her post.

Still not really sure what to do on days like today… I know I can’t give you a present anymore, but I guess that means I’ll just have to keep giving them in your name instead. Zelda Williams is the only daughter of the American actor, and she is also involved in the acting world. She announced in July that she was finally comfortable with being bisexual and she currently plays a transgender counselor in the TV series Dead of Summer. She also voices a character in the animated series of The Legend of Korra.

Robin Williams’ last Instagram post

The actor’s final photo shared on the social media platform was a black and white picture of him and Zelda. In the post, he wished her a happy birthday.

Robin Williams committed suicide in August 2014 after a fight against depression. He had been diagnosed with Parkinson.

Zelda and his father featured commercials for Nintendo to promote the Zelda video game. She was named after the princess.

The San Francisco Area honored Robin Williams calling a tunnel after him

The Mirror UK reports that the San Francisco Bay Area made a special tribute in honor of Robin Williams almost two years after his death. The famous Waldo Tunnel that connects the Golden Gate Bridge to Marin County, where the actor lived and died, is now named the Robin Williams tunnel.

The tunnel was known as the Rainbow Tunnel because outside of the arc you could see the colors of the rainbow, which are associated to Robin Williams costume in Mork & Mindy, where he used rainbow braces.
