HBO series has post on twitter GOT season 6 premiere date. Finally the fate of John Snow will be revealed on Sunday April 24th at 9 p.m. ET with the premier of the ten-episode season 6 of the hit series.
This season comes a little late. The series normally returns in late March, or early April. This time, the season premiers on late April perhaps, because this is the first time The Emmy-winning fantasy will have to consist, for the first time, with material not actually adapted from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series.
George R.R. Martin announced just after the new year that he was unable to complete the next installment, “The Winds Of Winter”. However, he provided executive producers David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger, and Bernadette Caulfield with a rough outline of plot points and character arcs, including where his story will eventually end up so they could use them in the development of the season.
“Believe me, it gave me no pleasure to type those words. You’re disappointed, and you’re not alone. My editors and publishers are disappointed, HBO is disappointed, my agents and foreign publishers and translators are disappointed… but no one could possibly be more disappointed than me. For months now I have wanted nothing so much as to be able to say, ‘I have completed and delivered The Winds of Winter’ on or before the last day of 2015. But the book’s not done,” Martin said in an interview.
Fans are eagerly waiting to find out what is going to happen with the fate of several characters, including Jon Snow who was killed off in the bloody season 5 finally and Daenerys Targaryen, who was left surrounded by a horde of Dothraki only with her injured rogue pet dragon.
April 24th will be an exciting a busy Sunday for HBO. The network’s comedies Silicon Valley and Veep will also premier their latest seasons the same night. The third season of Silicon Valley airs from 10:00 to 10:30. Hit comedy Veep returns for its fifth season after huge wins at the 67th Prime Time Emmys last year.
