The divorce process of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp continues to divide the media and fans since a couple of cinema actors have presented two very different versions of the same story. Both are scheduled to attend the court on June 17. Depp is currently touring around Europe with his band The Hollywood Vampires.
The 30-year-old actress visited the court on May 27 when she requested a temporary restraining order against the 53-year-old actor. On that day, Heard had a notable bruise on her right cheek, as reported by E! News.
Heard accused Depp of having hit her in the face with her cell phone, while they were fighting at their home in downtown L.A. Police reportedly answered to calls about the domestic incident, although Heard decided not to file a report.
Sources who spoke to E! News on condition of anonymity said a different story. It appears that two days before Heard appeared in court, she had no obvious injuries on her face.
Photographer Amanda de Cadenet published a picture during the same week of the supposed fight, showing Heard covering her cheek and her right eye, with her hair. However, the material was removed from the Internet when the actress attended to court.
On May 27, Heard obtained the temporary restraining order. The following weekend, she was photographed smiling with a friend. On the other hand, Depp was touring around Europe with his band The Hollywood Vampires.
Amber Heard was arrested in 2009 for domestic violence
The American Actress, who appeared in The Danish Girl, is currently accusing Johnny Depp of spousal abuse. According to documents analyzed by TMZ, Heard was arrested on September 14, 2009, at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, for the same reason she is currently getting a divorce.
During that time, Heard was dating the American artist and photographer Tasya van Ree. It appears that the couple engaged in a fight at the airport, and Heard hit van Ree in the arm. The first was arrested for “misdemeanor domestic violence” and had to attend court the following day.
On Wednesday, Tasya van Ree issued a statement saying that the 2009 arrest was caused by people “in a power position,” who apparently misinterpreted the fight. She added that those people had “misogynistic and homophobic attitudes” towards her and her girlfriend.
“Charges were quickly dropped, and she was released moments later. It’s disheartening that Amber’s integrity and story are being questioned yet again. Amber is a brilliant, honest and beautiful woman and I have the utmost respect for her. We shared five wonderful years together and remain close to this day,” said van Ree on Page Six.
TMZ continued the story on Thursday, saying that the supposedly “homophobic” cop who arrested Amber Heard was, in fact, an “openly gay woman” called Beverly Leonard. The police officer has also participated in a Seattle organization, which seeks to help victims of domestic violence.
