It has been almost three years since the tragic death of Whitney Houston, whose lifeless body was found in a hotel bathtub filled with shallow water. Over the weekend, her only daughter with Bobby Brown was found in almost the identical situation.
After her husband Nick Gordon was unable to reach Bobbi Kristina Brown by phone, he and her father went to the 21-year-old’s home only to find her unresponsive in a bathtub filled with shallow water. Just as her mother was discovered, Bobbi was face down.
Whitney and Bobbi were not only mother and daughter but extremely close friends. After her death, Bobbi struggled significantly. In a statement from performer Missy Elliott, prayers for a miracle are being sent along with prayers for Bobby, Nick, and remaining family members.
After rescuers arrived on the scene, it was secured and Bobbi rushed to the hospital where she was placed in an induced coma. As of the latest report, she is breathing with the aid of a ventilator and according to the team of doctors working to save her life she has very low brain function.
Her father, Bobby Brown, released a statement asking for everyone’s support and prayers, adding that things looked bleak. He also asked for privacy while the family deals with the matter. After hearing the news, people from all over the world began sending messages of support and love.
When the North Fulton Hospital in Roswell Georgia was asked for comment on Bobbi’s condition, the spokesperson would not even confirm that she was there. While being treated, law enforcement searched the townhome for any signs of foul play, drugs, alcohol, or other things that might shed light on how Bobbi ended up face down in a bathtub of shallow water.
Officer Lisa Holland with the Roswell Police Department commented that while Nick performed CPR, she was not breathing nor did she have a pulse. In Whitney’s case, authorities believe prescription medication and cocaine were the reason for her death but for the incident involving her daughter Bobbi, at this time no illegal drugs or alcohol were found in the home.
At this time, it is a wait and see situation. Several people close to Bobbi have stated that things do not look good and that recovery is probably not likely but only time will tell if she survives and if she does, what degree of brain damage was done considering she was without oxygen for some time.
